BigCommerce is an e-commerce platform on which a single account can run several storefronts, for example separate brands, point-of-sale, wholesale or social channels. Until now, all storefronts of an account were synchronized to Maileon as one combined pool, so the individual channels could neither be told apart nor excluded. With this update, the integration supports multiple storefronts and channels.
The update includes:
- Channel selection: the channels to be synchronized are chosen in the integration settings. Orders, abandoned carts, shipments and new subscribers follow this selection.
- Store and channel data: every synchronized contact and order carries the store and channel it originated from. Segmentation and reporting in Maileon can therefore be done per channel, not only per store.
- Product links: product links in order emails point to the storefront in which the purchase was actually made, instead of always defaulting to the main storefront.
- Reliability: a misconfigured or unreachable store now fails safely and is logged clearly, without affecting other merchants on the shared integration. Two bugs were fixed: duplicate BigCommerce webhooks, and shipment notifications that could be lost after a brief API interruption. Both cases are now retried instead of failing silently.
